What are the most Fun Classes to Play in Aion 2

Quick heads up before anyone grabs their pitchforks: this is not a DPS Tier List, not a parse log, if you want to know which class is the best; you can check our Aion 2 Global Class Tier List. This is just my opinion on which classes feel the most fun to actually play, and "fun" is about as subjective as it gets. If you main Ranger and you're already typing an angry comment, take a breath first, okay? We'll get there 😀

If you want cold hard numbers on who deals the most damage, we already covered that in our Aion 2 Global Class Tier List. This one is different. This one is just about which class actually feels good in my hands, button by button.

What Even Makes A Class "Fun"?

Everyone judges fun a little differently, so let's lay out what we're actually looking at here:

  • How busy are your hands? Some classes ask you to juggle cooldowns, stacks and timing every few seconds. Others let you hold down one or two buttons and mostly just watch the boss.
  • Do you feel in control? Classes that let you manage cooldown reduction, stack up combo resources or position around the fight tend to feel more rewarding than classes that just wait for numbers to go up on their own.
  • How does it feel to press the buttons? Animations, hit feedback and that little rush when a big skill finally goes off all matter here. Numbers on a screen don't always tell the full story.

We're going to split this into two lists: the first one is purely my own personal favorites, the classes I have the most fun with. The second one is a broader take on what tends to click with most players once they've spent real time on each class. These two lists will not agree with each other on everything, and that's kind of the point.

My Personal Top Picks

S Tier: Assassin

Assassin is basically constantly slipping in and out of stealth and stacking short burst windows back to back. It's less "build up to the payoff" and more "the payoff never really stops". For my personal taste, I can’t stop playing Assassin. It’s just action and speed non-stop.

A Tier: Gladiator and Templar

Both of these land here for the same reason: melee positioning is genuinely fun when you're good at it. You're not dancing around the boss from a distance, you're right in its face, controlling where the fight happens and reading its next move up close. There's something satisfying about being the one holding the line instead of watching from range.

B Tier: Chanter and Spiritmaster

Chanter is a fun surprise. On paper it's a support class, but in practice a lot of your damage comes from weaving a melee skill (Dark Crush) back into your rotation between ranged casts. Play it blind and most people would guess it's a DPS class with some support sprinkled on top. It just doesn't feel like "playing support" most of the time, and that's a compliment.

Spiritmaster earns its spot the same way. Your main damage combo builds off stacking up elemental charges by cycling through your three summoned pets, then cashing them all in on one big finisher. If you've never liked magic or summoner classes before, this rotation might change your mind. It turns "throw out a pet and wait" into an actual active loop.

C Tier: Sorcerer and Cleric

Sorcerer's whole identity revolves around one big button on a long cooldown. The fun part is everything you do in between: your other skills exist to shave time off that cooldown, so you're constantly juggling when to use what so the big nuke comes back around faster. It turns one scary cooldown into an ongoing little puzzle. It loses a few points for casted skills and low mobility, but the cooldown management alone makes it worth a look.

Cleric might surprise you too. If your main damage skill crits (which you can set up pretty reliably through a debuff skill), you get the cooldown back instantly. Get that loop going and you're basically spamming your best skill nonstop like a machine gun. It's still fundamentally a healer, but the rhythm of that loop feels great not gonna lie.

D Tier: Ranger

Don't get me wrong, Ranger looks great and performs well. The animations are slick and the damage is solid. The problem is the actual moment-to-moment gameplay: watch the boss, dodge, repeat, with most of your damage tied to one or two buttons that end up getting macro'd together anyway. It's a comfortable, low-effort playstyle, which is exactly why some players will love it and others (like me) will get bored of it eventually.

What Most Players Seem To Enjoy Most

Personal taste is one thing, but once you zoom out and look at what actually keeps most players engaged over time, the picture shifts a bit. This list leans more on how much a class asks of you moment to moment.

S Tier: Assassin, Sorcerer and Spiritmaster

These three tend to top "most fun" lists across the board, and it's because none of them let you coast. You're always managing something: burst timing, cooldown reduction or stack building. There's rarely a moment where you're just standing there waiting.

A Tier: Cleric and Chanter

Support and healing classes get a bad reputation for being boring, but Aion 2's versions of these roles are genuinely engaging. Keeping a party alive and buffed while still contributing real damage is its own kind of puzzle, and a lot of players end up enjoying it more than they expected going in.

B Tier: Ranger

Ranger climbs a bit higher on this list than on the personal one, and the reason is simple: being ranged means you get punished harder for messing up positioning, since you don't have the durability of a frontline class. That keeps you paying attention even with a fairly simple rotation. If you enjoy either a big charged shot or a fast rapid-fire feel, Ranger delivers exactly that.

C Tier: Templar and Gladiator

These two sit at the bottom of the "general fun" list mostly because of how little they ask of you button-wise. A lot of your time is spent standing in front of the boss, holding one skill down and waiting for cooldowns to come back. Templar edges out Gladiator slightly here since it at least gets to actively use shields to protect teammates, instead of just soaking up damage and hoping for the best.

The Real Takeaway

Fun tier lists and damage tier lists are two completely different things, and neither one is "wrong." A class that tops every Tier List can still feel boring to actually play, and a class near the bottom of a DPS ranking might be the one you end up maining for 500 hours because it just feels good.

Take these picks with a grain of salt. The only real way to know what's fun for you is to try a few classes yourself and see what clicks. And if you disagree with literally everything on this list, that's fine too. That's kind of how "fun" works.
