What is Daevanion in Aion 2?

The Daevanion board is one of those systems that looks intimidating the first time you open it. You're staring at a massive web of over 150 nodes, no clear starting point and a currency you're not sure how to earn. It's actually a lot simpler once you understand the pieces, so let's go through it properly.

What The Daevanion Board Actually Does

At the core, the Daevanion system is a set of huge boards packed with individual nodes. Every node you unlock gives you something, usually stats, and in some cases extra levels on your skills. One of your ongoing progression goals in Aion 2 is farming up Daevanion points and spending them to unlock more and more of these nodes.

In total there are eight boards, split into two groups of four that work quite differently from each other. Four boards share a currency and level your skills. The other four don't share a currency, work independently of each other, and hand out stats instead of skill levels. Let's go through both groups.

The Four Skill Boards: Nezekan, Zikel, Vaizel and Triniel

These are the four boards you'll be working with from day one, and they're the most important ones early on. All four are built the same way, and each one uses four node colors:

Node color

What it gives

Gray

Small basic stats, a bit of defense, a bit of crit, that kind of thing

Orange

Bigger percentage stats, like damage tolerance or damage boost

Green

Levels up a passive skill

Blue

Levels up an active skill

Here's the part that makes these four boards so important: each one of the four boards contains every single active and passive skill in the game exactly once, on its green and blue nodes. Since there are four of these boards, and each contains every skill once, fully clearing all four skill boards means you can push every one of your active and passive skills up by four levels total.

If you've read anything about how big a difference skill levels make to your actual damage output, that number should stand out. Getting your two or three key skills through these boards is one of the most direct ways to power up your character early, which is exactly why finishing these four boards should be one of your top priorities in Aion 2.

These four boards also share a single currency. Unlike the four stat boards below, you don't need to farm separate points for each one, any Daevanion points you earn for the normal boards work across all four.

A couple of practical notes worth knowing before you start spending points: not every Orange node on these boards is actually useful. Multi-hit Resist on the Triniel board and Critical Damage Tolerance on the Vaizel board do nothing in PvE, so don't feel obligated to fight your way toward them. The Gray Attack Bonus nodes, on the other hand, are worth grabbing on every board eventually, and it's fine to route around the two useless Orange nodes above to reach them faster.

The Four Stat Boards: Ariel, Azphel, Marchutan and Yustiel

The other four boards work differently. Structurally they still use the same gray, orange, green and blue node layout, but here the green and blue nodes don't level your skills, they just give more stats, the same as gray and orange. These four boards are purely about stacking power, not about pushing skill levels. Each board also has its own individual point pool rather than sharing one, so you're farming four separate currencies here instead of one.

  • Ariel: your PvE board. Orange tiles give PvE Damage Boost and PvE Damage Tolerance. Completed by farming Conquest and Transcendence dungeons.

  • Azphel: your PvP board. Stats here only matter in player combat, so it's not something you need to worry about if you're purely focused on PvE.

  • Marchutan: a general stat board aimed at mid-game. Orange tiles give Weapon Damage Boost and Weapon Damage Tolerance, though the Tolerance half of that is worthless in PvE, the board's still worth clearing for everything else it offers. Completed the same way as Ariel, by farming Conquest and Transcendence, or by converting Yustiel crystals into Marchutan ones at a 1:1 rate if you'd rather focus your farming on one board at a time.

  • Yustiel: a general stat board aimed at end-game. Orange tiles give Attack Increase and Defense Increase. Same Conquest and Transcendence farming loop as the other two.

One thing worth flagging for global specifically: Marchutan and Yustiel are framed as mid-game and end-game systems on the current live service, so don't be surprised if they take longer to come online, or aren't fully active, in the early weeks after launch. Ariel and Azphel are the two stat boards you can reliably plan your first few weeks around.

How To Get Normal Daevanion Points

This is the currency for your four skill boards, and thankfully it's also the easiest one to farm.

The bulk of your normal Daevanion points come from two sources you'll naturally be doing anyway:

  • Side quests: These are the green quests you see scattered around the map as you level. Completing them is one of the main ways these points flow in.

  • Sealed dungeons: Every sealed dungeon you clear rewards you with Daevanion crystals, which convert directly into points for these boards.

Between just doing your side quests and clearing sealed dungeons as you come across them, you'll end up with more than enough points to grab most of the important nodes on these four boards. This is a big part of why leveling routes that prioritize clearing nearby side content instead of rushing straight to the level cap tend to pay off, you're passively building up your Daevanion progress the whole way. We mention this in our Aion 2 Leveling Guide by the way.

On top of that, there's one extra source worth knowing about: the Shugo Festival Shop. This lets you buy up to 50 Daevanion crystals, but it's a one-time purchase, not something you can repeat. Worth grabbing when you get the chance, but don't expect it to be a repeatable farm.

Substance Morph: The Crafting System Behind It All

Before we get into the PvE and PvP point sources, it helps to understand a system called Substance Morph, since it's tied directly into how you'll actually get most of your PvE and PvP Daevanion crystals.

Substance Morph is essentially a crafting window, and admittedly a fairly complicated-looking one at first glance. The basic idea is simple though: you combine materials to craft specific resources you need. A lot of the time, instead of getting a full resource directly from content, you'll get fragments of it, and then you bring those fragments here to combine into the finished item (the fragment part may change in global, not confirmed yet).

This matters for Daevanion specifically because your PvE and PvP Daevanion crystals are usually earned as fragments first. As an example, it typically takes around 100 fragments to craft one full Daevanion crystal through Substance Morph.

There's also a bit of a gambling layer built into some of these crafts. Certain recipes have a guaranteed 100% success chance but need more materials, while others might only need a handful of materials but come with a much lower success chance, something like a 10% chance using only 10 fragments. Whether you go for the safe, guaranteed route or gamble on the cheaper, riskier one is entirely a personal choice. Neither is objectively wrong, it just depends on how much risk you're comfortable with and how many spare materials you're sitting on.

One more important detail: the Daevanion crystals you craft through Substance Morph can be sold directly on the auction house. This means you've always got a decision to make when you craft one, keep it for your own boards, or sell it for Kinah. If you're short on time and have Kinah to spare, you can also just buy crystals off the auction house instead of farming and crafting them yourself.

How To Get PvE Daevanion Points

The PvE board has its own separate points, and they take noticeably longer to build up than the normal board points do. Here's where they come from:

  • Nightmare Shop: You can buy 50 PvE Daevanion crystals here, but again, this is a one-time purchase.

  • Ascension Trial: This is your main consistent source. You'll earn fragments from this weekly, then craft them into full crystals through Substance Morph.

  • Daily and weekly quests. Some of these hand out a small number of fragments, but it's a minor trickle compared to the Ascension Trial, not something to rely on as your main source.

If you're trying to plan around this system, treat the Ascension Trial as your weekly must-do for PvE Daevanion progress, and treat everything else as a small bonus on top.

How To Get PvP Daevanion Points

The PvP board has three distinct sources, and one of them ties back into a system you might already be familiar with:

  • Leveling up your Monolith in the Abyss: This is the same feather-collection loop from the Abyss you may already be doing for other rewards. Bringing collected feathers to your Monolith rewards you with PvP Daevanion points on top of whatever else it gives.

  • The PvP Shop: You can buy 50 PvP Daevanion crystals here, but it costs Abyss Points to do it, and again, it's a one-time purchase.

  • Weekly Battlefields: This is your main consistent source. Battlefields are Aion 2's balanced 10v10 PvP mode, confirmed to carry over into the global version, and completing them rewards you with fragments of PvP Daevanion crystals. You can claim this reward up to three times per week.

If PvP progression is a priority for you, staying on top of your weekly Battlefield completions is the single most reliable way to keep your PvP Daevanion points flowing.

Putting It All Together: What To Prioritize

Here's the short version of everything above, boiled down into an actual plan:

  • Early on, focus on the four skill boards, Nezekan, Zikel, Vaizel and Triniel. They're the cheapest to fund (just do your side quests and sealed dungeons naturally) and they directly level up your skills, which matters a lot for your damage output.

  • Treat completing side content as part of your leveling route, not a detour. Every side quest and sealed dungeon you clear is quietly funding your normal Daevanion board progress at the same time.

  • Prioritize Ariel first among the stat boards, since it's your PvE board and directly useful from day one. PvE and PvP points build up more slowly than normal points, so start early. Get into the habit of running your Ascension Trial every week for PvE points, and your Battlefields every week for PvP points, even before you're actively pushing either board hard.

  • Decide your Substance Morph strategy in advance. If you'd rather play it safe, stick to the guaranteed crafts even if they cost more fragments. If you're comfortable gambling for efficiency, the lower success, lower cost recipes can stretch your materials further, just accept you'll sometimes come up empty.

  • Remember crafted crystals are tradeable. If you're ever short on time but have spare Kinah, the auction house is a legitimate shortcut. And if you end up with more crystals than you need, selling the extras is free money instead of letting them sit in your inventory.

Skill levels aren't only coming from your boards either. Our Aion 2 Arcana Guide covers the card system that works alongside Daevanion to push your key skills toward level 20.

Quick Recap

  • Eight total boards: four skill boards, Nezekan, Zikel, Vaizel and Triniel, sharing one currency and leveling your active and passive skills, plus four stat boards, Ariel (PvE), Azphel (PvP), Marchutan and Yustiel (general stats), each with its own separate currency and no skill levels attached.

  • Normal Daevanion points mainly come from side quests and sealed dungeons, plus a one-time Shugo Festival Shop purchase.

  • PvE points mainly come from the weekly Ascension Trial, plus a one-time Nightmare Shop purchase and small quest drips.

  • PvP points come from Monolith feather turn-ins, weekly Battlefields (up to three times a week) and a one-time PvP Shop purchase.

  • Substance Morph turns fragments into full Daevanion crystals, sometimes with a gamble option for a cheaper, riskier craft.

  • Crafted crystals can be sold on the auction house, so every craft is also a choice between keeping it or cashing it in.

This reflects the current Korean live service. Some shop costs, fragment ratios or launch timing, especially around Marchutan and Yustiel, may differ once global actually releases, so treat the specific numbers here as a solid guide rather than a guarantee.
