Continuing in the trend of giving the tried and true post-apocalyptic survival looter shooter genere a fresh new spin, Once Human has shaken up the standard formula by adding many new and unique mechanics. One of the funniest, and weirdest, of these mechanics are Deviations, also known as Deviants - a collection of bizzare creatures littered across the game world, taking many shapes and sizes, and offering a variety of bonuses if you manage to snatch them up.

Depending on the type of support they offer, Deviants fall into one of three categories:

• Combat Deviants - which actively help you in combat by dealing damage or debuffing enemies
• Gadget Deviants - which can be used both in and out of combat in a supporting role
• Territory Deviants - which you can leave throughout your base to help with crafting, resource gathering & production

But its not all fun and games, as Deviants' preformance hinges on their Mood and Deviant Power. These can change depending on if your base checks certain conditions, which are different for each Deviant, like having colored lights, playing a specific sort of background music, and so on.

Barring that, you'll also need to go out and collect them, and for certain Deviants, this can be really tricky as they sometimes drop from end-game content, like Great Ones or high level Securement Silos.
