Ever since its release in 2019, World of Warcraft Classic has been a huge success. The community has embraced playing the older versions of the game, and while some are doing so for the very first time, many veteran gamers prefer classic for the pure nostalgia of the Classic WoW experience. And with the release of Cataclysm Classic, instead of dying down, the hype has gotten that much hotter, with WoW reaching its all-time peak concurrent player count across all regions and versions of the game shortly after Cata's release. Suffice it to say, many players are dedicated to playing Classic, and even prefer it over Retail.
Cataclysm was a huge success back in the day, and despite the many critiques players had for it both then and now, the vast majority claim they are overblown and that the expansion is misjudged, a fact supported by the huge playercount.
Compared to the Vanilla version though, Cataclysm is much less grindy, and has a lot of QOL updates which makes it easier to play the game, without having to spend countless hours leveling up or farming. Still, in comparison with the current retail version of World of Warcraft, The War Within is less grindy in a lot of aspects.
Playing Cataclysm still requires a huge time investment if you want to get the most out of the expansion. Leveling up is much slower than TWW, but miles ahead of the Vanilla version where it took the majorty of the players months to reach the max level.
As with any version of WoW, pugging groups for end-game content is never a good idea, and more often than not results you in wasting hours of your precious gaming time. If you don't have the time to sink into Cataclysm the way you did back in 2010, then our Pros will definitely be of help!
