About our Division 2 Vertigo GR9 Exotic Boost

The Vertigo GR9 is a brand-new Exotic LMG introduced with The Division 2's Red Moon Rising event, and it brings a very different kind of firepower to your arsenal. Built from the GR9 platform, Vertigo is all about turning sustained suppression into an advantage for your entire squad. Its unique Startling talent applies Disorient to enemies you Suppress, while also giving you and your allies +30% Damage to Targets Out of Cover for 15 seconds.

That makes Vertigo an especially interesting weapon when you are playing with a squad. Lay down some serious LMG fire, keep enemies pinned, trigger Startling, and suddenly everyone has a bigger window to punish targets outside cover. Add its +15% Crit Chance optic, +50-round magazine, +15% Reload Speed, and +10% Rate of Fire mods, and this is one GR9 you will definitely notice when it starts barking.

BUT, getting your hands on a brand-new Exotic is rarely as simple as walking into the Base of Operations and picking one up. Vertigo is featured in the Red Moon Rising event, which sends Agents into the PvE Dark Zone while Black Tusk forces take over the area. The event's dedicated loot pools contain Exotics alongside DZ Named items, curated Named items, and Prototype gear.

And then there is the part every Agent knows too well: the farm. The Red Moon is not going to be active forever, so the clock is ticking while you chase those event rewards. Inside the PvE Dark Zone, Red Moon Stacks build as you stay in the zone, bringing useful bonuses alongside dangerous drawbacks. Dying, leaving the zone, or securing contaminated loot wipes those stacks, so a good run can turn into a very bad one surprisingly fast.

The Vertigo chase can be even more frustrating when RNG decides to play hardball. The XB-35 “Phoebe” Marauder is the boss associated with the Vertigo drop, meaning you have to track down the flying menace, deal with its rotating weak points, bring it crashing down, and then hope the Exotic you want actually appears. And if you are looking for a better secondary attribute, one drop may not be enough either.
