WoW Legion Remix is a time-limited event that brings players back to one of the most epic and fan-favorite chapters in Warcraft’s history. Unlike the original Legion release in 2016-2017, where content was rolled out gradually over the course of a year, the Remix compresses the entire experience into just 12 weeks.
The content model is structured in phases, each lasting two weeks. With every phase, the maximum item level increases, and new challenges appear including raids, campaigns, and dungeons.
This approach gives players two options: either follow the events as they unlock, keeping the feeling of steady progression, or wait until the final stages and complete all content in a condensed format. That means progression will be fast, and while players can wait for later phases, those who want to experience it “live” will get a steady stream of upgrades and nostalgia.
How Phases Work in WoW Legion Remix
- 5 phases total.
- New content every 2 weeks.
- No weekly lockouts.
- Item level caps rise with each phase.
In Legion Remix WoW, you’ll reach the finale in just a fraction of the time, so we recommend not falling behind.
Blizzard has shared a preliminary phase schedule on the PTR, but keep in mind that details are still subject to change. We’ll be monitoring updates closely and keeping you informed as new information becomes available.
Legion Remix Phase 1: Skies of Fire
When is the Phase 1 Legion Remix release date?
The first phase is coming soon: Phase 1 starts on October 7th.
The launch of the Broken Isles zones (Azsuna, Val’sharah, Highmountain, Stormheim) alongside Class Order Hall campaigns and Artifact weapon quests. World Quests also unlock, which back in 2016 were one of Legion’s biggest innovations.
- Dungeon Access: All original launch dungeons are present. Based on PTR info, Court of Stars and Arcway may still require progression through Suramar before they’re available, just like in the original Legion.
- Raid: The Emerald Nightmare, Legion’s first raid, featuring encounters against Xavius and corrupted Emerald Dream bosses.
In Remix, this all collapses into the first two weeks, and by the way it’s confirmed that you don’t need to complete Class Halls and can enter the raid almost immediately.
But some players express fatigue at having to replay the “intro zones” yet again, since many of their alts went through them repeatedly during Legion’s original release. Others, however, welcome the condensed pacing, as it cuts out months of grind and gets characters raid-ready much faster.
Legion Remix Phase 2: Rise of the Nightfallen
The full Suramar campaign, including the Insurrection storyline. This is widely considered one of WoW’s best quest arcs, though in the original Legion it took months due to reputation gating with the Nightfallen. In Remix, it should be unlocked much faster.
- Dungeons: Return to Karazhan mega-dungeon.
- Raids: Trial of Valor and The Nighthold. These were originally staggered in patch 7.1 and 7.1.5/7.2, but here they appear together within a single phase.
In Remix, with no extended rep locks, the campaign should feel smoother and more accessible. The combination of Suramar’s story and the release of Return to Karazhan + Nighthold will make this phase one of the most content-rich in the Remix.
Legion Remix Phase 3: Legionfall
This phase takes players to the Broken Shore, where the war against the Burning Legion escalates. Here begins the Legionfall campaign, a major story arc that sets the stage for the assault on the Tomb of Sargeras. Unlike the slower rollout in original Legion, where the Broken Shore was a long grind tied to gated reputation and weekly quest chains, the Remix format accelerates the pace significantly.
- Dungeon: Cathedral of Eternal Night.
- Raid: Tomb of Sargeras. Culminating in the fight against Kil’jaeden.
Legion Remix Phase 4: Argus Eternal
The Argus campaign across Krokuun, Eredath, and Antoran Wastes. This storyline was the climax of Legion, which set the stage for defeating the Burning Legion for good.
- Dungeon: Seat of the Triumvirate.
- Raid: Antorus, the Burning Throne, the final raid of Legion, featuring Argus the Unmaker.
Legion Remix Phase 5: Infinite Echoes
The timeline collapse an end-phase unique to Remix, where the alternate timeline destabilizes. Blizzard has not revealed exact mechanics yet.
- Raid/Dungeon: Currently TBD. No official confirmation of raids or content.
PTR has offered very little information for the final phase. Blizzard only teased that players will “say goodbye” to allies, face chaotic events, and embrace the collapse of the Legion timeline. Rewards for this phase remain unclear.
Comparison to Original Legion: There is no direct parallel. Infinite Echoes is entirely a Remix creation, designed as a finale that never existed in 2017. And most likely, we won't have a complete understanding of the entire plan until Phase 4 is almost finished.
WoW Legion Remix Rewards & Progression
Blizzard has packed the event with both brand-new collectibles and long-retired treasures, all while stripping away the slow reputation grinds and weekly lockouts.
Here’s what players can expect over the 12 weeks:
- Fel-Infused Class Mounts.
- Azshara-inspired transmog set.
- Mannoroth’s Shield and Corrupted Shalamayne.
- New titles such as Chronoscholar, the Infernal, and of the Infinite Chaos.
- Mythic Chosen Dead ensembles.
- Fel-Infused armor ensembles for Cloth, Leather, Mail, and Plate.
- Classic Legion mounts: Reins of the Llothien Prowler, Shackled Ur’zul.
- The First Satyr’s Spaulders (Xavius rare drop).
- Scythe of the Unmaker (new variant from Argus).
- Violet Spellwing (available again as a legacy reward).
Final Thoughts
Over the course of 12 weeks WoW Legion Remix, players will receive the full set of content: five phases, new events, unique mechanics, and their own unpredictable finale.
Awaiting us are: reworked Artifact trees, the return of the Mythic+ system in the form of the Timeworn Keystone with new affixes, the increased difficulty of the Heroic World Tier, Infinite Research quests, expanded character slots, and a wide variety of cosmetic rewards in the Infinite Bazaar. And all of this will be revealed step by step, adding pace and a sense of scale.
