To complete the SSC attunement chain, your character must already be attuned to Karazhan and able to enter Heroic Slave Pens.
1. Unlock Heroic Slave Pens access
To enter Heroic Slave Pens, you need the Reservoir Key, which requires Revered reputation with the Cenarion Expedition.
2. Start the attunement quest
Enter Heroic Slave Pens and speak with Skar'this the Heretic.
He gives you the quest "The Cudgel of Kar'desh".
3. Defeat Gruul the Dragonkiller
Go to Gruul's Lair, kill Gruul the Dragonkiller, and loot the Earthen Signet.
4. Defeat Nightbane in Karazhan
Kill Nightbane in Karazhan and loot the Blazing Signet.
Important: At least one player in the raid must be able to summon Nightbane.
5. Turn in the quest
Return to Skar'this the Heretic in Heroic Slave Pens and complete the quest.
Once turned in, your character receives the permanent blessing that completes the Serpentshrine Cavern attunement.
Result: Your character will have the SSC attunement completed permanently.
