Molten Core is the first raid to be released in World of Warcraft: Season of Discovery. Featuring enirely revamped boss encounters, mechanics and an entirely new difficulty system themed after increasing Heat, SoD's first raid is packed full of just as much fresh, exciting content as its original, on-release version did all the way back in 2004.

While some of the main draws of Raiding in Season of Discovery include getting powerful new Runes with unique effects, special class Weapons, Rings & Trinkets, as well as the reworked versions of the Tier 1 Class Set for each class, actually getting most of these items at their highest possible item level will demand that you play through the Molten Core's three new difficulties:

• Heat 1: Sweltering Heat - the lowest Heat Level, which places a Damage over Time effect on all raiders, intended to be approachable by most groups who do not have min-maxed fire resistance gear, consumables or group compositions ready to handle higher difficulties; the primary reward for playing this difficulty is high level gear, with additional drops from some bosses
• Heat 2: Blistering Heat - the second Heat Level, which applies a much more significant DoT, and requires players to have a minimum of +96 Fire Resist before attempting; it offers the same tier of loot as the previous difficulty, but more frequent drops from most bosses
• Heat 3: Molten Heat - the highest Heat Level, which applies a heavy fire damage DoT to the entire raid, and is designed for only the most well prepared groups, with a minimum of 216 Fire Resist being necessary for an attempt; it offers additional rare item drops from later bosses, as well as brand new weapon cosmetics; this difficulty also includes an all new boss - the Molten Core, which gives gear tokens and exclusive cosmetics

All of this makes the new version of Molten Core significantly harder than its first version, requiring a lot more coordination, preparation and overall skill from any team trying to tackle its newly added Heat mechanic. And while that makes the Raid that much more exciting, it also means that clearing it will be a lot harder, especially when you take into consideration the toughest boss of all: WoW's playerbase.

An extremely elitist group formation culture coupled with all the sweaty tryhard toxicity that has carried over to SoD from Classic & Retail almost guarantees that you'll need a lot of time, patience and skill to get invited into even the lower tiers of MC, and will demand twice as much if you're trying to pug high Heat. For most players, this is far easier said than done.
