Plunderstorm is WoW's take on Battle Royales which was first introduced in March 2024. The pirate-themed game mode was a limited time event similar to Pandaria Remix, both of which turned out to be extremely successful, to the point where the playerbase has been begging Blizzard to bring it back.

And now, come January 14th 2025, Blizzard has done just that. Not only have they given us another shot at one of the most fun, unique events in recent WoW history, but they've also added plenty of new rewards for all the people that played it during its initial release. Set in the post-BFA Arathi Highlands, Plunderstorm features a 60 player battle royale where players are thrown into the map randomly starting at level 1 with basic abilities, after you land, it's game on! You'll need to start defeating mobs or players to level up, collect plunder, and scavange for abilities that you can equip.

What makes Plunderstorm unique is both how fast paced it can be, as well as the high level of customizability it gives players, allowing them to choose up to four unique spells, to of which are Offensive, and two that are Utility-based.

The main objective of the activity is obviously to win, but do not fret if you don't end up winning games, it's not an easy feat to finish first in any Battle Royale game modes. The main currency of Plunderstorm is Plunder, and that is where all the goodies come from. You need to gather as much Plunder as you can, so that you can buy all the rewards that is available with it. 

You can gain Plunder by looting random piles on the ground, opening chests, and killing players or mobs. There are a lot of good rewards up for grabs such as Mounts, Titles, Cosmetics for Transmog, Battle Pets, and of course achievements! Getting them all however requires a substantial amount of Plunder which will require you to invest a ton of hours into the activity.
