Introduction
Finding the most comfortable class and spec combo to play in PvP matters greatly. Plenty of classes can perform well, while others tend not to be as useful against experienced and strong players. Therefore, they fall behind significantly in comparison to some classes that can perform in all different scenarios and elo.
Tier List
Ranking from the first class to the last in the respective tier will matter in deciding which one is the best/worst in the given tier.
S-Tier
Few classes and spec combos are incredibly strong and are just perfectly fine for any situation and rating. Finding a good spot between a class that has huge burst windows, cc, and plenty of utility as well as sustain is perfect for any team comp. Few Apex Tier classes check these boxes and have proven to be the ones you should focus on trying out and learning, as they have good returns once you master what they have to offer. These are the classes that are currently BIS for PvP:
- Fury Warrior (Slayer)
- Feral Druid (Wildstalker)
- Frost Mage (Frostfire)
- Retribution Paladin (Herald of the Sun)
- Elemental Shaman (Farseer)
- Shadow Priest (Voidweaver)
- Windwalker Monk (Conduit of the Celestials)
- Beast Mastery Hunter (Pack Leader)
- Subtlety Rogue (Deathstalker)
- Arcane Mage (Spellslinger)
- Havoc Demon Hunter (Aldrachi Reaver)
A-Tier
Classes in this Tier are very viable, to say the least; they tend to perform pretty well, but are slightly worse than the ones in the upper-tier. However, they have a high skill ceiling (At least the majority). Mastering them will pretty much give you similar results and will be worth the grind once you do reach that level. They will perform very closely to the S-Tier and will realistically be on par with the S-Tier counterparts.
- Fury Warrior (Mountain Thane)
- Arms Warrior (Slayer)
- Devastation Evoker (Scalecommander)
- Assassination Rogue (Deathstalker)
- Balance Druid (Keeper of the Grove)
- Unholy Death Knight (Rider of the Apocalypse)
- Demonology Warlock (Soul Harvester)
- Marksmanship Hunter (Dark Ranger)
- Survival Hunter (Pack Leader)
- Demonology Warlock (Diabolist)
- Destruction Warlock (Hellcaller)
- Affliction Warlock (Soul Harvester)
- Outlaw Rogue (Fatebound)
- Enhancement Shaman (Totemic)
- Marksmanship Hunter (Sentinel)
B-Tier
This is still a relevant tier in the meta, but it is not as strong. It is fully situational and will tend to fall behind once you’re on the higher rating (Gladiator+). They’re of course not useless and can have some use, but will not perform as good as some of the upper-tier classes.
- Arms Warrior (Colossus)
- Destruction Warlock (Diabolist)
- Frost Death Knight (Rider of the Apocalypse)
- Windwalker Monk (Shado-pan)
- Outlaw Rogue (Trickster)
- Subtlety Rogue (Trickster)
- Augmentation Evoker (Scalecommander)
- Feral Druid (Druid of the Claw)
- Retribution Paladin (Templar)
- Balance Druid (Elune’s Chosen)
- Elemental Shaman (Stormbringer)
- Arcane Mage (Sunfury)
- Enhancement Shaman (Stormbringer)
- Shadow Priest (Archon)
C-Tier
These specs/class combos are not performing well this season and are struggling to give satisfactory results. They struggle against the majority of the team comps, while they overall don’t bring a lot to the table for the remaining group/duo partner, so they will mostly be overshadowed by any class that we already mentioned.
- Frost Death Knight (Deathbringer)
- Unholy Death Knight (San’layn)
- Fire Mage (Frostfire)
- Fire Mage (Sunfury)
- Devastation Evoker (Flameshaper)
- Assassination Rogue (Fatebound)
- Affliction Warlock (Hellcaller)
- Beast Mastery Hunter (Dark Ranger)
- Havoc Demon Hunter (Fel-scarred)
Final Thoughts
As we conclude this tier list, some final words should be spoken. A lot of classes are performing solidly, so you can have a large variety of things to play, and there will probably be something that will fit your playstyle. A lot of classes have at least one viable spec, and the majority of them have even two. Finding something that performs well and that feels comfortable this season shouldn’t be a problem this season. Regardless of everything, you can play whatever you find fun and see how it feels for you to play!
