That currency is Remnant of Anguish, and it matters a lot if you want to keep up with Prey rewards. You use it to buy a wide range of items from the Prey vendors in Astalor’s Sanctum, including transmogs, mounts, pets, toys, housing decor, and some profession-related rewards. In simple terms, if you want the most interesting cosmetic rewards and extra value from Prey, this is the currency you will be farming. Midnight’s Prey rewards include armor appearances, mana wyrm mounts, pets, toys, housing decor, and gear progression through the system itself.

Prey begins with Magister Astalor Bloodsworn in Murder Row, Silvermoon City. After that, you take on hunts, move through the system’s progression, and unlock tougher difficulties over time. The system currently uses Normal, Hard, and Nightmare difficulties, with harder versions adding more pressure and more challenge to the final encounter. The main way to farm Remnant of Anguish is by doing Prey Hunts. As you keep completing hunts and pushing farther into the system, you continue building currency and progression at the same time. Current community coverage also notes that Remnant of Anguish is collected from hunt completion and can also drop from ambushing targets and from certain related enemies inside the system.
