    About our WoW Character Gearing Boost

    With the release of every new expansion comes a brand new Season, and with every new Season, comes an Item Level crunch, cap increase or rework. For the War Within, Item Level is seeing a considerable cap increase, from 528 as of Season 4 of Dragonflight, up to 623 as of the War Within's first Season.

    This, of course, means that players will have a lot of gearing to do if they're looking to do the toughest content in the game. Thankfully, there are plenty of competitive gearing options this time around, letting players take their pick at how they'd like to get their gear, including:

    • Delves - a brand new PvE activity that can be done solo or in a group of up to 5 players; at their highest Tier, that being Tier 11, Delves drop Champion Gear (597 - 619 ilvl) and up to Hero Gear (610 - 625) from their own Great Vault slots
    • Mythic+ - the long time favorite of most PvE players, Mythic + has seen another change this expansion around, with their item drops only scaling up to Mythic+ 10; still, this doesn't mean the gear they drop is any worse, as you can get everything from Veteran Gear (584 - 610) at M0 up to Hero Gear (610 - 625) from +7 to +10 Mythics. You can also get Myth Gear (623 - 639) from the Great Vault, for keys at +10 and above
    • Raids - the most difficult, and rewarding, PvE content in the game, offering gear from all tracks Veteran and above depending on their difficulty, all the way up to Myth Gear when done at Mythic Difficulty
    • Battlegrounds, Arenas & Solo Shuffle - PvP is in a category of its own, since as of Shadowlands, PvP gear has its own separate Track & Scaling system which only activates in Warmode or during instanced PvP content. Depending on wheter it is purchased with Honor or Conquest, PvP gear can go up to 626 ilvl (Honor Gear) & 632 ilvl (Conquest Gear)

    Since we mention Tracks so much, here's a handy little table of all Gear Tracks and where to get them as of Season 1 of the War Within:

    • Explorer (558 - 580) - World Quests; Delve Tiers 1-2; Normal Dungeons
    • Adventurer (571 - 593) - World Quests; Weekly World Events; Delve Tiers 3-4; Heroic Difficulty Dungeons
    • Veteran (584 - 610) - Renown Rewards; Weekly World Events; Delve Tiers 5-6; Delve Tiers 1-3 Great Vault; Heroic Difficulty Dungeons Great Vault; Mythic Difficulty Dungeons; LFR Difficulty Raid Bosses
    • Champion (597 - 619) - World Bosses; Delve Tiers 7-11; Delve Tiers 4-6 Great Vault; Mythic Difficulty Dungeons Great Vault; Mythic+ Keystone 2-6 Dungeons; Normal Difficulty Raid Bosses

    Although it all seems pretty cut and dry, actually getting the gear you want, at the level you want it, then get it again to upgrade its Track, can be really, really difficult. Bad LFG randoms, trash RNG and overtuned early season dungeons can easily burn you out and waste a lot of your time.
