Buried Bloodlines is the most useful in PvE due to its great versatiliy of offering the devour buff on non-void subclasses. Buried Bloodlines is also decent in PvP, however, it's a bit harder to get devour activated within PvP. It can easily two tap guardians while also offering a decent magazine size and reserves for a special weapon. One other worthy mention for PvP in terms of side arms would be the notorious Forerunner sidearm.

Buried Bloodlines does have a catalyst available, and it's extremely useful! It allows the weapon to apply the weakend debuff on enemies while Devour is active. The Buried Bloodlines Catalyst is a bit difficult to get since, you need to run the dungeon multiple times.
